Norman resident, Patricia Kay Ross, 62, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her home.
Patty, the daughter of Houston and Maggie Jane (Harjo) Ross, was born March 12, 1963, in Seminole. She attended Strother Schools and graduated with the Strother Class of 1981. She then attended Oklahoma Baptist University, where she received her degree as a physical therapist assistant. Patty put that degree to use working for over 30 years at Norman Regional Hospital. In addition to her work in physical therapy, she was active with the Norman Regional Hospital Foundation. Patty loved gardening and bird watching, watching movies of all kinds, Oklahoma City Thunder basketball, reading, and visiting landmarks, two of the more inspirational landmarks that she visited were Wounded Knee and the OKC Bombing Memorial.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Maggie Ross; and a sister, Sherri Ross.
Patty is survived by one aunt, Elsie Ross of Seminole, Oklahoma; cousins, Nowatha Cope, James “Sonny” Williams, Eugenia Lena, Roy Holata, Jacqueline Harjo, and Mariam Spencer; and numerous other relatives and friends; and her two cats, Oliver and Bagheera.
Casket bearers will be Josh Lena, Aaron Lena, Garrett Lena, Stephen Spencer, Jonathan Harjo, and Ezekial Hatley. Honorary casket bearers are James Williams, Mel Lena, Roy Holata, Stacy Patillo, Michelle Hamilton, and Jackie Wilson.
A wake service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. ~ 7:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Services will be Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 1:00 P.M., at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with interment to follow at the Ross Family Cemetery in Seminole, with Reverend Rick Deere officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
