Shawnee resident Nancy Carroll (Geno) King, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on August 22, 2026.
Nancy, the daughter of Chester and Julia (Rebedew) Geno, was born September 14, 1935, in Hesperia, Michigan. On December 3, 1971, she married Allen King in Carmichael, California.
Nancy was a mother first and foremost but worked as a teacher’s aide for many years. She was deeply loved by her church family at the Maud Church of God, where she also found great joy and fellowship. Nancy was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, painting, and planting trees wherever she could. She had a gift for bringing beauty and life to the world around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings; son Jerry Kennedy; and grandson Jacob Anderson.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Allen King; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Kennedy, David Kennedy, and Jess Kennedy; daughters and son-in-law, Esther Grace and David Anderson, Julie Christine Baird, and Julie “Mouse” Sledz; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Thomas Geno and Ted Geno; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Rodney Rerem; and many other beloved family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2026, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Pastor Dan Kasper officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.
