Mary Ellen Vandever

Seminole resident Mary Ellen Vandever, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the age of 66 in Seminole.

Mary, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Adoretti) Ferranti, was born March 21, 1955, in Westfield, Massachusetts.  She graduated from Westfield High School with the class of 1973.  On July 1, 1989, she married Leroy William Vandever in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Mary had worked at Wrangler and was a CNA working in nursing homes and home health care.  Mary loved the outdoors, she was particularly happy when she was camping alongside a stream she could fish or go rafting in.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Shawn Chisholm.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery Vandever and his wife Stephanie of El Reno and Joseph Chisholm and his wife Laura, of Hampden Massachusetts; one sister, Lynda Ferranti; 7 grandchildren; a sister-in-law Cordelia, of Seminole, and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
