Marvin Lee Patterson

Marvin Lee Patterson, age 84 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away April 3, 2026 at Oklahoma City Veterans Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Heath Sapp will officiate, and burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery. Casket bearers are Mason Nunley, Tim Coffey, Marty Coffey, Rope Booth, Mike Hinkle, and Landon Hinkle. Honorary bearers are Van Chew and Brad Patterson. The family will receive guests 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.

Marvin was born January 26, 1942 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Marvin Eldred Patterson and Eva Mae (Edwards) Patterson. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 1959 and attended OSU Tech and the Oklahoma School of Banking and Business. He married Pamela Christine Gulley December 2, 1966 at Britton Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He gave his life to Christ at the age of 17 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Marvin became a State Bridge Inspector for the State of Oklahoma, and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Konawa where he served as a Deacon. Marvin loved fishing, oil painting, and traveling to admire the American West while visiting John Wayne movie sites. Marvin served his country in the Army during Vietnam.

He leaves two daughters, Lisa Dawn Nunley of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Memory Lee Patterson of Sulphur, Oklahoma; one brother, Laudis Brad Patterson and wife, Jeannie of Blanchard, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Donna Patterson of Norman, Oklahoma and Patricia Knight of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Megan Rae Mathers and husband, Luke, Mason Storm and Chayla, McKenzie Inez Nunley, and Charlee Jo Crowley; one great grandchild, Freya Danea Nunley; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Eva Patterson; his wife, Pamela Patterson; one brother, Terry John Patterson; one brother-in-law, Raymond Knight; father-in-law, George Gulley; and mother-in-law, Inez Gulley.
