Lolita Beloyte (Williams) O'Guinn

Lolita Williams-Knighton-O’Guinn of Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 28, 2022, at the age of 83. She was born on September 4, 1938, in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Hubbard Williams and Lula Bell (Mills) Williams. She was one of the first to integrate public schools in Seminole in 1955. She married David Knighton and her life began. To this union one son, Reginald was born. David was a man who joined the Army and took the family all over the United States, but they always came home to Oklahoma. At Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma is where she became a nurse and retired from the military hospital there. She stayed in the nursing field for 50 years. David Knighton preceded her in death. Later in life she fell in love with and married Harold O’Guinn, who also preceded her in death.

Lolita is survived by her son Reginald Knighton, grandchildren; Reginald Knighton II, David Knighton, Blaize Blankenship, Shey Knighton, Leah Knighton and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; David Knighton and Harold O’Guinn, her granddaughter; Sharri Knighton and siblings; Alice, Gearldine, Norma Jean, Emitt, Thelma and Wilhelma.

Viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022 and Friday, August 5 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

The funeral service for Lolita will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole.  Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Eddie Louie, Jr., Jarrod Reese, Melvin O’Guinn, Anthony Louie, Kevin Hardeman, Gilbert Reese and Randy Winrow. Honorary bearers will be Ray Madkins, Tommy Payne, Glenn Shaw, Kyle Riggs, Larry Jackson and Russell Daniels.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
