Linda Lawyer

Please join with us in remembering and honouring the life of our mother, Linda Ruth Lawyer. She passed on to a place of peace in the early hours of Tuesday the 6th of May at home surrounded by her family. Linda lived her life with tenacity and integrity, which she displayed right up until the end.

According to her wishes, her body will be cremated, and we will be having a party to celebrate her life on Sunday the 18th of May from 2-4pm at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. All are welcome, and please bring along a memory you would like to share with others, if you wish.

Linda had a passion and a zest for life mixed with compassion and a sincere love for others: her own recipe for success! She lived her life ‘full speed ahead’ with a generosity of spirit that flowed through all her many ventures from cooking to counselling. As a devoted educator for the majority of her life, she addressed any injustices head on, helping countless young people from all walks of life over several decades.

Linda was loved by many, including her nurses and doctors in her last weeks at the hospital who came to send her off (many with tears in their eyes) when she transitioned to hospice care at home. Her kindness, strength and sense of humour were a light for many to learn from. In her professional and personal life Linda was a true teacher, recognising the needs of others, even if after a lengthy conversation!

She loved and was loved.

She will be deeply missed, but her very lively spirit will continue to be with us through our challenges and celebrations.
