Lawrence Cliff Hinman, age 85 and a longtime resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away May 13, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma.
A graveside service at Vamoosa Cemetery is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025 under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate.
Lawrence was born January 29, 1940 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Wilbur Giles Hinman and Jessie Elizabeth (Higgins) Hinman. After receiving his G.E.D., he attended several colleges. Lawrence was a Central Office Technician for AT&T until his retirement. He married Patricia “Joyce” Branscum on October 1, 1958 in Konawa, and he was a member of the Colbert Baptist Church of Ada. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, and the pianist for the McSwain Theater of Ada for serval years. He loved playing music and playing the piano. He also enjoyed watching race cars, and farming.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Hinman of the home; one son, Larry Hinman and wife, Carla of Midlothian, Texas; one sister, Linda Johnston and husband, Otis of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Brian Hinman, Aaron Hinman, Nicholas Hinman, Brandon Hinman, and Tiffany Rodriguez; five great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy Hinman; five brothers, Leon, Dean, Jack, Marshall, and Ted Hinman; four sisters, Margaret Hinman, Helen Niece, Ruth Phenix, and Verna Thornbrugh.
