Lahoma Ruth Tiger

Seminole resident Lahoma Ruth Tiger passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 65.

Lahoma, the daughter of Willie Fixico and Elizabeth Larney, was born February 13, 1958, in Oklahoma City.  She married Glen Tiger, Mr. Tiger preceded her in death on November 1, 2008.  Lahoma was a jokester and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, she loved to cook and dance, and was known to throw back one or two, but nothing was as important to her than being outside with her grandkids.  The Pleasant Grove and Seminole area were her stomping grounds, where was known to be a good basketball player.  Having a caring attitude, Lahoma loved to help families in need by preparing and taking them meals.  She loved listening to her nephew sing Seminole/Creek song and he wore a purple robe.  Lahoma could often be found sitting under “her tree” in her backyard.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husband; two sisters; a nephew and a niece.

Lahoma is survived by her sons, Robby Tiger, Jimsey Tiger, and James Tiger, all of Seminole; daughters, Jeannette Harjo-Codd, of Staten Island, NY, Toni Donita Harjo, of NY, Tiffany Harjo of Seminole, Cheyenne and Sheryl Tiger of Ada, Tisha Tiger of Seminole and Jaelin Jones of Oklahoma City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Denise Fixico of Longmont CO, Sam Fixico of Oklahoma City OK, Robert and Kim Fixico of Oklahoma City OK, and Max Fixico of Seminole; sisters and brothers-in-law, Blackie and Phillip Looper of Blackwell OK, and Mandy and Chuy Cavasos, of Blackwell OK; 27 grandchildren, Christian, Hunter, Harjo Tribe, Mia, Leilei, Daphny, Corgan, Cassius, Kyndslee, Silas and Tiger-Fields Tribe; 6 great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

Casket bearers will be Bubba, Nate, Culv, Kenon, Beau, Jon, and Joe.  Honorary casket bearers will be Mike, Robert, Sam, Max, Jaelin, Mark, Tre, D, and the Big Girls.

A wake service will be Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. at Sand Creek Church.

Services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Sand Creek Church with Houston Tiger, Kevin Fox, Eric Thlocco officiating.  Interment will follow at Tiger Family Cemetery in Wolf.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
