Kathryn "Kay" Louise (Wilson) Straughn , age 81, a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away March 11, 2022 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Konawa, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Her son, John Straughn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Thackerville, will officiate. There will be a gathering at the church, prior to the service, beginning at Noon for family and friends. A private, family burial will be held at Konawa Cemetery afterwards.  Pall Bearers are Casey Straughn, Ryan Barker, Cory Williams, Ty Hill, Andy Dearth, and Dalton Whatley.  Honorary Bearers are Jim Coats, Bobby Burns, Brian Wilson, Jeff Reed, and Benjamin Bridges.

Born December 11, 1940 in Konawa, the third child of Robert Franklin Wilson and Lydia Pearl (Coursey) Wilson.  She was born, raised, and proud to be a native of Konawa.  She graduated from Konawa High School in 1958. She was a free spirit, and worked in many different jobs. From Accounting and Taxes, to Real Estate, the Activities Director for a Salvation Army Senior Center, to owner and editor of the Del City News.  She was a tireless volunteer and photographer for various Del City community organizations, local politicians, the Jim Thorpe Association, Bart Connors Foundation, OKC Arts, and so many other groups that were close to her heart. Kay was unabashedly proud of her family, her "love language" was pictures, and she was surrounded by what she called her personal art gallery, the photos of all of her family. Her heart was always open to taking in 'extras', the ones she referred to as her chosen kids. She was truly one of a kind, and leaves a legacy of a life well lived.

She is survived by her sister, Nelma Burns, of Konawa; her daughter,  Kathryn "Kathy" Lynn (Campbell) Barker and husband Gary of Sherman, Texas; son, John Robert Straughn and wife, Mary Suzette, of Era, Texas; son, Jeremy Wayne Bridges and wife Candice, of Chipley, Florida; daughter, Robin Rene' (Straughn) Williams and husband, Richard Wesley of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter Kara Elizabeth (Straughn) Hill and husband, Stephen of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren as follows:
