Seminole

Karlos Quillin, 82, of Seminole, Oklahoma died June 25, 2024. He ended his great journey on this earth in the company of his family and in the comfort of the house that he built with his own hands. He died after a long battle with Alzheimer's Dementia.

Karlos was born to Erma (Mortan) Quillin and A.D. Quillin in Seminole Texas on January 14, 1942

Karlos married Sally Quillin on December 23, 1959. They had three children together Ronda Griffin, Twila Pepe, and Curtis Quillin. Karlos and Sally were married until Sally’s death on April 9, 2003 after a long battle with cancer. Karlos remarried in June of 2007 to Brenda Boettler Quillin. His son, Curtis Quillin lost his life on January 10, 2016 after a tragic accident while on vacation on the island of Molokai Hawaii.

Karlos was an adventurer at heart. He enjoyed reading westerns and adventure novels. Karlos was always ready for a plane ride or a road trip as long as he could listen to Willie Nelson. His favorite destinations were the islands of Hawaii where he loved to snorkel and eat. He enjoyed the scenery of the Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole Wyoming, Yellowstone national park and fishing for Cut Throat Trout on the Snake River. Karlos enjoyed traveling new places with the people he loved.

Karlos Quillin was a gifted craftsman and woodworker he remodeled and build many projects that included houses along with beautiful furniture and cabinetry for his family. He was a self-taught heavy equipment operator he had fun building ponds on the farm. Karlos was truly a jack of all trades there wasn’t much he couldn’t figure out.

In the 82 years he was on this earth he did a little bit of everything. Karlos grew up on a farm so naturally as an adult he ran cattle for many years but where he excelled the most was farming pigs. He enjoyed going to farm auctions looking for his next project.

Karlos worked many jobs in his Texas hometown as a young man. Then when he moved to the Seminole, Oklahoma area with his wife and kids he worked at Bluebell now known as Wrangler before going to work in the oilfield. He worked for BJ Hughes driving a pump truck working on oil wells all over the state of Oklahoma then he went to work at Wallace Acid Frac. Karlos spent many years working with different companies in the oil industry. He had pretty much learned how the oilfield business worked then he retired from Wallace Acid Frac “around 1993” after retirement he bought some old oil wells on the land he lived on, that purchase turned into a full time job until around 2009 when he finally settled down and retired again. He enjoyed many years of retirement and traveled until the pandemic caused him to have to stay home.
