Judy Carol McGee

Judy Carol McGee, Maud resident, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 in Maud at the age of 80. Judy was born on June 5, 1944 in Seminole County, Oklahoma to Frank and Bertha Beatrice (Thomas) Orr. She was later adopted by Bud and Edna Iona (Thomas) Byers. 

In her earlier years Judy worked for Wrangler. She then began her long career in education, working for 5 years as a secretary to the superintendent for Strother Schools followed by her 43 year career as the administrative assistant for Maud Schools. She had an incredible talent of remembering numbers and information and rarely needed a rolodex for reference. She could sew anything and loved to sing. Above all she was a caregiver and loved to take care of others and was known for putting other’s needs above her own. Judy was a hard worker and worked three jobs to provide for her kids. She knew how to do so many things including working on cars and tackling plumbing and fixing fence. Judy loved her Red Diamond Splenda tea from her Tupperware pitcher which her family remembers well. She took great joy in going to Texas to pick poke salad with her grandchildren. Judy loved watching her grandkids play sports. 

Judy is survived by her two daughters, Nita Newcomb and husband, Bill of Prague, OK and Lori Moses and husband, Gerald of Elizabethtown, KY; five sons, Brian Hoskison of Maud, OK and Charles Heath Hoskison of Maud, OK, Jimmy McGee of Elizabethtown, KY and David McGee and wife, Angie of LaGrange, KY, and DaCota Hoskison; grandchildren, Christohper Splawn and wife, Kristi of College Station, TX, Darryn Splawn and wife, Amanda of College Station, TX, Shane Newcomb of Oklahoma City, OK and Kalen Newcomb of Dale, OK, Gerrod Moses and wife Tiffany, Brittany and Karla, Donnie McGee, Jennifer Wilmoth and husband, Norm, Davie Kelley and Tyler, Jake McGee, Bobby Smith, Jamie Keene, Kaitlin Keene and Kody Keene, Jurnee Young; great grandchildren, Emrie Splawn, Collin Splawn, Brody Splawn, Darryll Splawn, Josslyn Splawn, Jaxson Newcomb, Mason Newcomb, Kingston Moses, Madeline Moses, Davin Powell, James Floyd, Andrew Floyd, Dean Wilmoth, Ruell Wilmoth, Emma McGee, Alexander McGee, Tori Keene, Bailey Keene, Ashtyn Smith and Hudson Smith and many other family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James G. “Jim” McGee; grandson, Darryl Paul Splawn; brothers, Bobby Orr, Lonnie Orr, Larry Orr and Billy Hoskison and sister, Linda Hoskison. 

Viewing will be Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 1:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maud Gym. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.
