Seminole, OK

Judith Ann Carter, 79, of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on October 25, 1946, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Judy was the daughter of Minnie Oneta Hendricks and Earl Raymond Hendricks. At a young age, her family moved to Seminole, where she spent the rest of her life as a proud and longtime resident. Over the years, she built lasting friendships and touched the lives of many in the community she called home. She spent many years working for Seminole Public Schools, where her kindness, generosity, and caring nature touched the lives of students, coworkers, and families alike.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Donnie Carter of Seminole, Oklahoma; her sister, Wanda Hendricks of Seminole, Oklahoma; her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Pat Hendricks of Shawnee, Oklahoma; her son, Greg Carter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her daughter, Stacy Dudgeon and her husband, Gary, of Seminole, Oklahoma; her cherished grandchildren, Andrew Carter and Jacob Carter of Claremore, Oklahoma; Taylor Deatherage of Seminole, Oklahoma; Logan Deatherage of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; Savannah Dudgeon of Seminole, Oklahoma; Mariah Jones and her husband, Parker Jones, of Harrah, Oklahoma; her cherished great-granddaughter, Juniper Jones; several beloved nieces and nephews; and many dear friends whose lives she touched throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie Oneta Hendricks and Earl Raymond Hendricks; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben and Edith Carter.

Judy and Donnie shared 64 wonderful years built on commitment, happiness, and countless treasured memories. Together, they created a home centered on family and caring for others.

Judy embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude. She loved shopping, traveling with her friends, and making memories wherever life took her. Whether it was a weekend getaway, an afternoon spent shopping, or simply enjoying time with those she loved, Judy found joy in life’s everyday moments and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome.

Above all, Judy was devoted to her family. She celebrated every milestone, offered comfort through every hardship, and never missed an opportunity to remind the people she loved how much they meant to her. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and valued.

The outpouring of support shared after her passing is a testament to the remarkable woman she was. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, compassionate heart, warm smile, wonderful sense of humor, and her remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel like family. Judy leaves behind not only a family who adored her, but also countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.

Though our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the 79 years we were blessed to share with her. Her legacy lives on through the kindness she extended, the friendships she treasured, and the family who will carry her memory forward.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mike Snyder Foundation for Child Development, 35264 EW 1235, Seminole, OK 74868, in honor of Judy’s generous spirit and her lifelong commitment to caring for others.

She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
