Joseph Hinex III

September 3, 1959 — March 18, 2026

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:38-39.

Joseph Hinex III, was born on September 03, 1959, to Joseph Hinex Jr. and Minnie O. Hinex in Seminole, Oklahoma. He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age and sang in the choir and ushered. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, in Seminole and went on to East Central University (“ECU”) in Ada, OK, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree. While attending ECU, Joseph played football, keep in mind the high school he graduated from did not have a football team, by God’s favor, Joseph was a walk-on, and later became a starter for the ECU Tigers. God’s plans for Joseph were always bigger than his present condition or circumstances. On September 01, 1990, Joseph married the beautiful love of his life Susie and experienced the joy of fatherhood with sons Paul and Christian. He later enjoyed the thrills of being a grandparent, with Adrian, Azareal, Ariel. While nothing was more pleasurable than spending time with family and friends, cooking and watching the OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys (“get beat”😊). Joseph loved sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, you never questioned if he was on the Lord’s side. And as such, Joseph went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 18, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Hinex Jr., and leaves to cherish his blessed life, his mother Minnie Hinex, his wife Susie, sons Paul, (wife Carissa), Christian; siblings Curtis Hinex, (wife Carol), Ethel “Eth” Hinex, and Tonya, (husband Michael Ford). Joseph loved all his relative, he never considered his in-laws, as in-laws, but as family, and had “special sibling-like relationships” with Linda Fay (“most spoiled”) and Derrick. Indeed, along with a host of other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Joseph's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Galilee Baptist Church located at 1025 E. 9th St., Shawnee, OK 74801.  Burial will be at Earlsboro Cemetery.
