Johnny Michael Fixico

Wewoka resident Johnny Michael (Mike) Fixico, 55, died Monday, December 13, 2021 at a Midwest City hospital.

Mike, the son of Johnnie and Annie Ruth (Ripley) Fixico, was born March 27, 1966, in Oklahoma City.  He attended Strother High School but ultimately graduated from Varnum.  On March 28, 2009, he married Toni Marie Harjo at the Sasakwa Community Center; they enjoyed 12 years of marriage, and loved each other very much.  Johnny worked for Arco as a welder and CNC operator for 13 years.  He was a proud member of the Seminole Nation and he was a member of the Sweet Potato Clan and member at the Gar Creek Ceremonial Grounds.  Mike was proudly sober for 20 years after attending AA meetings in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his aunts.

Mike is survived by his wife, Toni, of the home; sons Michael Fixico of Cromwell, Nathan Coy Harjo of Wewoka, and James O’Brien of Wewoka; a daughter, Sarah Fixico of Cromwell; and a brother, Terry “Rowdy” Harper of Seminole; and many other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Dub Howell, Rowdy Harper, Kenneth Williams, James O’Brien, Nathan C Harjo, and Christopher Harjo.  Honorary bearers will be Richard Johnson Jr., William Johnson, Michael Ripley, Nathaniel Ripley, Nathan Harjo, and Ronald Gipson.

There will be a wake service Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Services will be Friday, December 17, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Seminole.  Interment will follow at the Davis Harjo Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
