John Travis Lemmings

John Travis Lemmings, 60, longtime Seminole resident passed from this life on June 6, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. John was born to Thomas Leon Lemmings and Anita Marie (Vaughn) Lemmings on September 5, 1964, in San Diego, California. John grew up in the Seminole and Little areas and attended and graduated from Strother High School in 1982. John was retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he was a Tool Attendant.

John honorably served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard, and attained the rank of Seargent E-7, John served honorably and was a veteran of Desert Storm. John loved bowling, fishing, shooting guns, riding motorcycles, playing baseball and hanging out with his grandkids. He was a member of the V.F.W. and USBC Bowling League.

John was a patriot that loved his country. John was so good at the grandpa role, that you would have thought he was born just to do that. He was his grandkids biggest fan. They knew without a doubt they could look in the stands whether at a dance recital, baseball field or court, and he would be there every time.

John married Kimberly Knizek on November 30, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

John is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Lemmings of the home, his parents Tom and Anita Lemmings of Seminole, Oklahoma, three sons; Travis Lemmings, Justin and Shianne Lane and Johnny and Lindsay Lane, one brother; Michael and Tammy Knizek and a sister Tammy Lemmings, 9 grandchildren; Travis, Ronnie, Lily, Bentley, Bristol, Beckhem, Berkeley, Bodhi and Jaci Anna.

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 11 and Thursday, June 12 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Michael Tom officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery with Military Honors.

Casket bearers will be Travis Lemmings, Michael Knizek, Justin Lane, Johnny Lane, James Little and Kevin Bane.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
