Texarkana, TX

Texarkana, TX resident Joel Nolen Wilson passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 in Texarkana at the age of 58. Joel was born on February 22, 1968 in Shawnee, OK to James Olen and Geannetta Joy (Craig) Wilson. In his earlier years Joel managed Ball Pipe and Supply. He married Shelia Cully on August 15, 1997 in Arkansas.

Joel had a contagious laugh and truly enjoyed being a jokester and having a fun sense of humor. He and his brother Craig were affectionately named the “Franks corner terrorists” as they were two troubles looking for more trouble. Joel was a great cook and his famous pancakes are dearly remembered from the days when his wife, Shelia was expecting and he would cook for her and take care of her. He was a good husband and father. Joel had the biggest heart and was always willing to help someone and was the type that would give the shirt right off his back if needed. Once you were Joel’s friend you were always his friend. He took such good care of his mom even if they didn’t always agree on things. Joel was a hard worker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, OU sports especially football. Above all Joel loved his kids and his precious granddaughter.

Joel is survived by his wife, Shelia Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Lacy Wilson and Jeff Wade; three sons, Jasper Nolen Wilson, Joel Anthony Wilson and Alvin Zachary Craig Wilson; brother and sister-in-law, Craig Wilson and Toni Tiger Wilson; granddaughter, Jacey Ann Wade and many other family and friends.

Joel passed alongside his mother, Geannetta Joy Wilson, as he protected her. He was preceded in death by his father, James Olen Wilson and his grandparents, Alvin and Bobbie Craig.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Jasper Wilson, Joel Wilson, Ben Long, Benjamin Long, Rocky Cater and Jeff Wade.
