Jesse Lee Crawford

December 24, 1929 — August 6, 2014

The journey for Jesse Lee Crawford began on December 24th, 1929 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He was the second of 3 children born to Allie (Webster) Crawford and Isaiah Crawford. He married Charleszetta Woodfork. This union was blessed with 2 son's, Larry T. Crawford (Geraldine) and Earl M. Crawford (Geraldina).          Jesse received his education in Wewoka Douglas school system, and was a member of the Douglas High School Alumni Association.          He was a long time employee of Tinker AFB as an structural mechanic retiring after over 30 years of service. Jesse served his country as a member of the US Army from February 1951 to February 1953.          Giving his life to Christ and was baptized at an early age. He served as a deacon at Galilee Baptist Church in Seminole under his father in law the late Pastor Jesse E. (JE) Woodfork Sr. and later at New Jerusalem under Bishop Bobby L. Williams Sr. until his health wouldn't allow him to attend.         He was a member of Livingston #175 Masonic Lodge,  where he was a Past Master; member of L. Ashley Chapter #3 Holy Royal Arch Masons, and the Florence C. Johnson Chapter #85 OES Worthy Patron. He faithfully attended all events and functions associated with the Prince Hall Jurisdiction of Oklahoma fraternal organization. On Wednesday, August 6th 2014 the Lord saw a need and call Jesse from labor to reward, from the Hospice Quality Care Home in Midwest City, Ok. Proceeding him in death, his parents Allie and Isaiah, brother James, sister Dorothy, wife Charleszetta, and one son Larry. Left to cherish his memory, son Earl Michael Crawford (Geraldina), niece he helped raise Koretta McArthur (Brian), daughter in law Geraldine, Uncle L.R. Webster, sister in laws.  Rose Woodfork, and Gladys Crawford, 9 grandchildren, LaDonna, Travetta, Larry Jr., Cornelius, Timothy, Paulina, Niyah, Miyah, and Michiyah, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services are planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the New Jerusalem Evangelist Temple Church of God in Christ at 1621 Bishop Bobby L. Williams Drive in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Rev. Larry Payne will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Seminole with Military Honors.
