Jerry Lee Self

Jerry Lee Self, Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at his home in Seminole, at the age of 75.  Jerry was born on February 6, 1948 in Seminole to Leonard Clifford Self and Jane Ellen (Myers) Self.  He spent his life in the Bowlegs, New Lima and Seminole area.

Jerry was the best.  He was strong, independent and very stubborn.  Jerry was also the sweetest and kind hearted man one could ever meet.  He was one person you could count on to be there for you always.  He loved his family, friends, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters.  He adored all his grandbabies and his children.  All through the years he had his Lisa, his true love.  His beautiful soul will be in our hearts forever with his hands on our shoulders. He will be missed every day that goes by.  His face and his presence will be deeply missed by so many.  There is comfort in knowing Jerry is up there next to Larry looking down at his family and friends smiling. The Lord took home one of His toughest angels.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and riding on his motorcycle and had to have his coffee every day.  He was a member of Rogeus M. C. in his younger days.

Jerry is survived by the mother of his children, Lisa Self;  his son, Waylon Self of Seminole; two daughters, Kayla Self of Bowlegs and Taylor Self of Seminole; two sisters, Glenda Irene Bryant of Sasakwa and Kellean Kerr of Norman; eight grandchildren, Austin Barnhartt, Kaylor Fowler (Sissy), Kendal Renton, Kylen Renton, Korbin Graham, Karlie Graham, Mason Morphis and Tristen Morphis and many other family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Clifford Self; mother, Jane Ellen Self; brothers, Hershal Self and Clifford Self and twin brother, Larry Self.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.  Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
