Jeremy Ray Bryan

December 4, 1980 — March 6, 2022

Seminole

Jeremy Ray Bryan, age 41, passed away on March 6, 2022.  He was born in Shawnee on December 4, 1980, to Dickey and Mary Bryan.  Jeremy graduated from Seminole High School in 1999 where he excelled in numerous sports.  He was a member of the 1996 State Football Championship and 1997 State Basketball Championship teams. He was also the 1999 #2 Singles State Tennis champion and was selected as All-State in tennis. Jeremy attended Seminole State College for one year before receiving a degree in History from East Central University. He was later inducted into the Seminole High School Hall of Fame.

Jeremy was an avid Oklahoma State fan having spent his childhood attending football and basketball games with his family.  Growing up he was either on a ball field or in a basketball gym with his brother and dad. Jeremy loved his family with his whole heart and would do anything for them, and he carried this love and devotion with him when he started his own family. Jeremy had a great group of lifelong friends and teammates who were more like brothers. They spent countless nights playing poker and weekends at the lake. He would do anything for his friends which sometimes wasn’t a good thing, but he loved them fiercely as they did him. His huge heart caused him to also make sure his family kept every stray dog that wandered to their house

His proudest accomplishment were his two children, Kylie & Turner Bryan. There is nothing more special than a father/daughter bond, and his relationship with Kylie was no exception. Anyone who knew him, knew of his nickname of “Bubbles” for her, one that he never stopped using even as she got older. They would spend time together binge-watching the Star Wars Saga and cooking. Turner was everything he never knew he wanted in a son. He was extremely proud to watch Turner develop a love not only for sports, but for animals.  He loved to coach any and every sport Turner played. Even though Turner became more of a football player than basketball, he was so excited to hear about Turner’s most recent move to starting quarterback for his local football team. Jeremy was proud of anything and everything his kids did and was always there to cheer them on and pick them up when things didn’t go okay. He loved them with everything he had.

Jeremy was a teacher and a coach for Okmulgee, Shawnee & Seminole Public Schools before relocating to West End, NC with his family.  In the summer of 2020, Jeremy moved back to Seminole where he worked with his mother and took care of his father. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his two children, Kylie Bryan and Turner Bryan of West End, North Carolina; his parents, Mary & Dickey Bryan of Seminole; his twin brother, Eric Bryan and his wife DeeDee Bryan of Seminole; his sister, Kari Bryan of Seminole; his aunt & uncle, Denise & Joe Templeton of Summerfield, North Carolina; nieces, Brooklyn & Naomi Bryan of Seminole; cousins, Alison, Ricky and Rowan Reed of Yukon, Oklahoma, Megan and Aaron Jefferson of Bella Vista, Arkansas as well as numerous other cousins.  He is preceded in death by his aunt Jane Bryan Pool and cousin Linda Sharpe Stone.
