Janet "Jan" Louise Dukes

Seminole resident, Janet “Jan” Louise Dukes, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, in Seminole, at the age of 77.

Jan, the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Bridge) Smith, was born December 3, 1946, in Oakland, California.  While living in California, she married Jay Dukes and was employed at a local telephone company as an engineer.  Jay was transferred to Oklahoma and Jan and Jay chose Seminole as their home.  While living in Seminole she was employed at “Go Leasing” as a manager.  Jan loved quilting, singing, and her dogs.  She was very patriotic and possessed great respect for the American Flag.  Jan and Jay worked as youth directors at Highway Baptist Church, where she was a member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hazel Smith, and one sister.

Jan is survived by her husband, Jay Dukes, of the home; a son, Jason Dukes and his wife; three grandsons, and one sister.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10:00 A.M., at Highway Baptist Church.
