Seminole resident James Alan Harris, 44, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at his home.

James was born June 5, 1981, in Boise City, Oklahoma, to Bennie and Galeaha (Cantwell) Harris. He worked for Indaco Metals in Shawnee and also dedicated his time to lawn care work, a reflection of his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. James enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping and going to the lake, he was particularly fond of Thunderbird Lake, and will be remembered as a loving son, brother, nephew, and friend. James had a special relationship with his mother and his grandmother; he loved them both very much.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bennie, Susie, Lavonda, and Gary; his mother, Galeaha, and her husband, Bobby Musgrove; his uncle, Troy; his aunt and uncle, Marci and Dave Burkett; his aunt, Alice Alvarez; and his sister, Brittanie Montgomery.

James is survived by his father and stepmother, Bennie and Cree Harris; his sisters, Amanda Harris of Yukon and Taylor Harris of Edmond; and his grandmother, JoAnn Cantwell. He also leaves behind many other beloved family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

A graveside memorial service is being planned at Little Cemetery in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
