Jai Von Gretchyn Gilbert

Jai Von Gretchyn Gilbert, Wewoka resident, passed away in Choctaw, Oklahoma on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the age of 21.  Jai was born on July 14, 2001 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jason Ware and Kelley Gilbert.

Jai enjoyed being an artist, modeling and writing.  She graduated from Job Corps and worked as a certified nursing assistant.   Jai enjoyed nature.  She was beautiful inside and out and never took no for an answer.  Jai loved her family and friends.  They would say “she was the rock to our roll”.

Jai is survived by her mother, Kelley Gilbert; father, Jason Ware; two brothers, Jayshawn Glander and Jave’an Williamson; sisters, Jave Gilbert-Ware, Jabreanne Gilbert, Jazmin Sullivan, Jalazhia Glander, Amayah Turner and Jasynn Ware; niece Ja’lelanna Glover; nephew, Ja’kobe Glander and many other family and friends.

Jai was preceded in death by Charley Gilbert, Jr.

Viewing will be Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, September 26, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
