Ishmael "Lynn" Blankenship

Maud, OK resident Ishmael “Lynn” Blankenship passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026 in Shawnee, OK at the age of 65. Lynn was born on January 4, 1961 in Concord, CA to Ishmael Lynn Blankenship Sr. and Shirley Ann Blankenship. He was a 1979 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School in Pleasant Grove, OK. He lived in Colorado for a while, grew up in Seminole and spent the rest of his life in Maud. Lynn married Kristie Ann Young on June 12, 1981 in Maud, OK.

Lynn enjoyed fishing, collecting knives, playing games and staying at home where it was peaceful. He devoted his life to living for God and witnessing to others. He was a dedicated member of the Church of God in Maud, OK.

Lynn is survived by his mother, Shirley Ann Blankenship of Seminole; wife, Kristie Blankenship of Maud; two sons, Joshua Blankenship of Maud and Bryan Blankenship of Seminole; three daughters, Amy Blankenship of Shawnee, Emily Blankenship of Shawnee, and Jessica Blankenship of Midwest City; two sisters, Shirley Lynn Postoak of Seminole and Bridgette mcClanahan and her husband, Eugene; six grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Ishmael Lynn Blankenship Sr.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Lash Blankenship, Brent McClanahan, Blaize Blankenship, Joshua Blankenship, Bryan Blankenship and Buckey Blankenship. Honorary casket bearers will be Ryan Anderson and Jonathan Anderson.

Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at The Church of God in Maud, OK. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, OK. Pastor Dan Kasper and Pastor Danny Carter will be officiating.
