Seminole OK resident Irma Jean Ross passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the age of 82. Jean was born on October 24, 1943 in Okemah, OK to Kermit and Ruth Lorraine (Hamilton) Snow. She spent most of her life in Seminole County, growing up in Cromwell, graduating from Butner High School in 1961. Jean was a real estate agent and a small business owner until she went to work for the Defense Logistic Agency, retiring from Tinker Air Force Base March 1st of 2006 after many years of service as an administrative assistant.
When Jeans girls were growing up she was the "softball Mom" at every game, travelling to tournaments and yelling at the officials bad calls. She loved Elvis, Kenny Rogers, The Eagles and Jelly Roll. Casino road trips were a sure thing if you were spending time with Jean as she chased the "jackpot" frequently. Painting was such a joy for her and she loved a challenging game of cards with a glass of good wine.
Jean had a regular weekly seat for bingo at the Senior Citizen Activity Center where she loved the diverse personalities of everyone there. You would always be surprised by the stories when Jean and her friends returned from a little trip because it always turned into a big adventure. One of her circle of friends included The Midnight Writers...each member wrote a chapter for a book and then passed the story to the next lady. Jean was quite excited to be a published author.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Shonda Ross-McGuire of Seminole, OK and Ta’mara Ross of Harrah, OK; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Ross and Zackary Hamilton; one great grandchild, Ayden Hamilton and many other family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Snow of California; sister, Darlene Factor of Cromwell, OK and grandson, Kordel Ross-McGuire of Seminole, OK.
Honorary casket bearers are Zackary Hamilton, Ed Herber, Charles Steinman, Gary Tolson, David Brewer and Chase Doyal.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Little Cemetery. Pastor Mike Woodberry will be officiating.
