Helen Bessie (Bentley) Nail , age 85 and a former resident of Wanette, Oklahoma passed away May 9, 2024 at Shawnee Care Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate.

Helen was born January 24, 1939 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Edward Alonzo “Lonnie” Bentley and Edna Mae (Plumlee) Bentley.  She graduated from Wanette High School and married Glenn Dale Nail on April 21, 1958 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wanette.  Helen was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Tecumseh.  She loved farming and animals.  Helen was very active and was constantly “on the go” even at the Care Center.

She is survived by one son, Carl "Glenn" Nail and wife, Betty of Tecumseh; two daughters, Sandy Watson of Tecumseh, and Benita Gentry and husband, Rafael of Shawnee; six grandchildren, Rebecca Edgar, Katriana Munguia, Vanessa Hurte, Rafaela Gentry, Jason Huff, and Jessica Haynes; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Nail on 11/19/2018; and one brother, James Homer Bentley.
