Harmon Dale Stinnett, age 82 and a resident of Maud, Oklahoma, passed away May 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Assembly of God Church located at 205 W. 3rd in Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. James Williams will officiate.
Harmon was born March 4, 1942 in Owen’s Prairie, Oklahoma to Virgil Lawrence Stinnett and Elizabeth Luthamie (Dodson) Brown. He graduated from Choctaw High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from December, 1963 until August, 1965. He married Susan Kay Treanor November 4, 1967 in Oklahoma City. He was a self-employed stonemason and was a member of the Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church of Konawa. Harmon was also a member of the American Legion. He loved singing in church, telling stories, hunting, and fishing. Harmon also had a love for animals.
He is survived by one son, Daniel Bruce Stinnett and wife, Kelly of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee; one daughter, Ellen Keiner and husband, Henry of Wolf, Oklahoma; two brothers, Darrell Stinnett and wife, Peggy of Konawa, and Keith Stinnett and wife, Wanda of Konawa; one sister, Helen Smith of Harjo, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Samantha Bays and husband, Kyle, and David Herriman and wife, Kalei; two great grandchildren, Logan Bays and Nolan Bays; and Jake McCraw whom he considered to be a grandson; special friend, Debbie Poirier; and a host of family, friends, and church family and acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Susan; three sisters; and one brother.
