Glenn Dale Anderson

December 21, 1937 — March 19, 2024

Glenn Dale Anderson, 86, longtime resident of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 19, 2024. Glenn was born December 21, 1937 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Otis Oakland Anderson and Juanita Madeline (Garrison) Anderson.

Glenn grew up in Seminole County, Oklahoma and graduated from New Lima Public Schools in the Class of 1955 where he was a member of the baseball team. For his career, Glenn worked as a skilled mechanical engineer later retiring from Goff Inc., a manufacturing corporation local to Seminole, Oklahoma.

Glenn is proceeded in death by his first wife, Bertha B “Peggy” Anderson, who passed September 5, 1998 at the age of 58, and is the mother of three sons Gary, Jimmy and Eric Anderson. As a widower, Glenn reunited with old acquaintance Gettie Joybell “Joy” Barlow Anderson and the two Seminole natives happily married on January 2, 2002 with Glenn gaining two stepsons, Clyde and Scott Barlow. Glenn and Joy shared nearly 20 years making wonderful memories together before Joy passed February 4, 2022 at the age of 82.

Aside from his late found love for crazy socks, especially his Tweety Bird socks, there were a few things Glenn loved: an ice-cold Mountain Dew, a big slice of pie, woodworking, fishing the best honey holes, finishing a new puzzle and watching countless hours of Gunsmoke with the volume on extra high. In his late life, Glenn was a simple man sticking to his routines and often times was a man of few words – his famous line being “might as well.”

In addition to Peggy and Joy, Glenn is proceeded in death by his parents, brother James Anderson, brother Kenneth Anderson and son Eric Anderson.

Left to cherish Glenn’s memory are his two sons Gary Anderson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Anderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his two stepsons and step daughter-in-laws Clyde and April Barlow of McAlester, Oklahoma and Scott and Tammy Barlow of Shawnee, Oklahoma, his sister Ivon (Anderson) Harrison and brother-in-law Ed Harrison of Calvin, Oklahoma, sister Carol Sue (Anderson) Evans and brother-in-law Jerry Evans of Noble, Oklahoma, brother Gene Anderson and sister-in-law Sonny (McDaniel) Anderson of Galveston, Texas. Glenn is also survived by multiple grandchildren and step grandchildren including: Sharell (Anderson) Harris, Myndee (Anderson) Nix, Joseph Driskell, Summer Brown, Cassidy Anderson, Ryann Anderson, Chad Anderson, Storey Anderson, Bobbie (Barlow) Geisler, Misti (Barlow) Mass, Cody Barlow, Angela Barlow and Brady Barlow.
