Seminole resident, Gene Bergerson, 84, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his home.
Gene, the son of Arthur and Imogene (Hawley) Bergerson, was born November 9, 1940, in Eugene, Oregon. He graduated from Maclachie High School in Sacramento, CA., with the class of 1958. Gene proudly served in the US Navy, once established in Seminole, Gene joined and was a proud member of American Legion Post 204. After a 5-year courtship, Gene married Judy Sheets, Long Beach, CA., on June 21, 1963. Married, Gene and Judy moved to Colorado, and lived there for several years, before moving to Seminole, in the mid-70s and establishing their home. Gene was a pipe fitter by trade, but he was also involved in real estate, which led to his owning and operating the Van Sanford Apartment Building for over twenty years. Gene enjoyed snow skiing and water skiing, riding motorcycles and shooting pool, but nothing was as important to Gene as were his family trips and family get togethers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Imogene Bergerson, and by his granddaughter, Summer Elise Bergerson.
Gene is survived by his wife, Judy Bergerson, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Amber Bergerson, of Guthrie; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Terry Young, of Seminole, and Brenda and Russ Wood, of Edmond; five grandchildren, Lacy, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Ty, and Jimmy; and one great grandchild, Beckham; along with many other family members and friends.
