Ella Rue Carr

Ella Rue Carr, Wewoka resident, passed away on September 9, 2025 in Seminole at the age of 84. Ella was born on July 7, 1941 in Bradley, OK to Carl and Golda (Gunter) Hamit. She worked as secretary to Wewoka attorneys A.C. Kidd and David Boren and later at Wewoka Jr. High School. She also worked as a case worker for DHS.

Ella is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eddie “Ben” and Shanon Carr; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Damon Henley; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Bryan Branch; brother and sister-in-law, Buster and Cathy Hamit; four grandchildren and three great granddaughters and many other family and friends.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents; son, Olen Michael Carr; sister, Ruth Rayburn and brother, CD Hamit.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK.
