Donna Marie Cox-Gaines

Seminole resident Donna Marie Cox-Gaines, 74, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at Seminole Care and Rehab, where she had resided for the past twenty years.

Donna, the daughter of Robert Don and Doris (Pitts) Cox, was born June 6, 1951, in Seminole. She graduated with the Bowlegs High School Class of 1971 and later attended Seminole Junior College. Donna worked for JAG Corporation in Tulsa. She enjoyed writing poetry and playing the clarinet. In high school, in addition to playing the clarinet, she was a twirler with the Bowlegs Marching Band.

Donna loved her bling, chocolate malts, family, and the staff of Seminole Care and Rehab. She was quick to let people know how beautiful they were, and she was always wanting to know if she could “go.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Doris Cox, and her brother, Ronald Cox.

Donna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Dale Babb; her sister-in-law, Leora Cox; her aunt, Carol Mills; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Seminole Care and Rehab, along with the staff of Choice Hospice, for the love and care they extended to Donna.

A memorial service is scheduled for July 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
