Donald Lee Gatewood

Donald Lee Gatewood, age 89 and a resident of Ada, Oklahoma passed away April 1, 2026 at his home.

No memorial service is planned at this time, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma.

Donald was born October 16, 1936 in Greenway, Arkansas to Virgle O. Gatewood and Clara Lucille (Brandon) Gatewood. He graduated from high school in Kennett, Missouri, and he owned his own auto dealership. He married Lucille Cooper in November of 1980 in Ada. He loved old classic country music and going antiquing and going to garage sales.

He is survived by one daughter, Karen Stoliby and husband, Rick of Ada; one brother, Danny Ray Gatewood and wife, Pat of Mississippi; two grandchildren, Rebecca Kelley and husband, John of Ada, and Jonathan Sawler of Ada; five great grandchildren, Kainan, Kristopher, Ashlynn, Noah, and Jack; five great-great grandchildren, Saylor, Naveigh, Charlee, Evelyn, and Attica; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgle and Clara Gatewood; his step-mother, Helen Mowery; his wife, Lucille Gatewood; one son, Rick Gatewood, one daughter, Tawnya Gatewood; two brothers, Dewayne and Bill Gatewood; one sister, LaWanda Crawford; and one grandson, Ricky Gatewood.
