Dixie Michetta Brockie

March 20, 1954 — February 26, 2026

Earlsboro

Dixie Michetta (Little) Brockie, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Dixie was born on March 20, 1954, in Prague, Oklahoma, to Mitchell and Wanda Jo (Coker) Little. She graduated from Strother High School with the Class of 1972. She continued her education at Haskell Indian Nations University, where she proudly played on the university’s first women’s basketball team. She also attended Rocky Mountain College and later earned her master’s degree from Kansas State University.

On November 9, 1973, Dixie married the love of her life, Mickey Brockie, in Hays, Montana. They shared 50 wonderful years of marriage before Mickey’s passing on July 1, 2024.

Dixie served as the registrar at Aaniiih Nakoda College in Harlem, Montana. Her dedication to her work and her students changed the lives of many young people, especially those who needed encouragement and direction. She believed deeply in education and in second chances.

Dixie was an avid fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder and rarely missed cheering them on. She treasured family gatherings, loved traveling and hunting for bargains at garage sales, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren — especially attending their ball games and activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Brockie; her parents, Mitchell and Wanda Jo Little; sons, Ted Brockie and Dominic Laforge; and her sister, Michelle Little.

Dixie is survived by her sons, Jason (Becky) Little, Mecv Brockie, and Henry (Hank) Brockie; her grandchildren, Jalen Brockie, Kobe Brockie, James (Snowy) Brockie, Kendall Brockie, Mitaylee Brockie, Gracie Brockie, Dakota (Allison) Little, Dallas Little, Dayton Little, Henry Little, DJ Prince James, Jacob Lurry, and Tad Bias; her great-grandchildren, Jalen (JJ) Brockie, Michael Brockie, Paul Brockie, Atticus Brockie, James Brockie Jr., Easton Little, Grayson Little, and Holland Little; her siblings, Osceola (Cena) Little, Sheila (Leonard) Little-Harjo, and Reta Little; Dixie was also considered to be “mother” to all the basketball players that played with her sons; along with many other cherished family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lee Stokes, Regina Phillips, Susie Tillman, Geraldine Evans, Thomasine Davis, Gracie Brockie, and Mitaylee Brockie.

Honorary pallbearers are Dakota Little, Dallas Little, Dayton Little, Henry Brockie Little, DJ Prince James, Jalen Brockie, Kobe Brockie, Kendall Brockie, and James Brockie.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Rex Hailey officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

In honor of Dixie’s love for her team, attendees are encouraged to wear Thunder gear to the service.
