Diana Louise (Cox) Knowles, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, vibrant life, and nurturing care. Born on January 21, 1943, to Jim and Wilma Cox, Diana's early life in Seminole, set the stage for a lifetime of community involvement and personal passions.
Diana graduated from Seminole High School in 1961. Diana attended Oklahoma State University and was on the inaugural OSU women’s golf team. On August 31, 1962, while attending OSU, she married the love of her life, Michael Leonard Knowles. Together, they built a family and raised three sons: Jeff, Bill, and Greg.
Diana dedicated many years of service to her community, retiring from Seminole Public Schools. Like her mother, Diana possessed an extraordinary gift for bringing plants and flowers to life, a testament to her nurturing spirit. She was a dedicated member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, never missing a meeting, and her commitment to sisterhood was unwavering.
A true culinary artist, Diana was renowned for her talent as a cake decorator and an amazing cook. Her cookbook and recipe collection was vast enough to fill a library, reflecting a lifetime of creating delicious meals and treats for her family and friends.
Diana was a huge OKC Thunder fan and always had coaching suggestions for the team. Having three boys, she was always the first to hear their dirty jokes and refereed Saturday night wrestling matches. She and Mike never missed any of their sporting events. Although she never got to fulfill her dream of going up in a UFO, she had plenty of activities to keep her busy.
Diana had no reservations about dressing up and never turned down an opportunity to wear a clever and funny costume.
Diana is survived by her three devoted sons: Jeff of Seminole, Bill and his wife Christal of Shawnee, and Greg and his wife Leanne of Seminole. She leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Jeffrey, Mollie, Caleb, Trent, Olivia, Owen, and Eli, who will carry on her legacy of love and joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike; her parents, Jim and Wilma Cox; her father- and mother-in-law, Earl and Lucille Knowles; and her siblings, Susan, Francis, and David.
Diana Knowles will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering spirit touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to blossom in the hearts of her family and friends.
