Deborah Lynn Blain, 73, of Seminole, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Seminole, at her home peacefully, with family beside her.
Deborah was born on October 2, 1952, in San Juan, New Mexico, to Raymond Blain and Patsy Jo (Birdsell) Doherty. She grew up in the Harjo/St. Louis area and graduated from Asher High School with the Class of 1970.
Deborah worked as a beautician for several years at J & J’s Beauty Shop alongside her two aunts and her mother. Deborah also drove a school bus for Butner Schools, transporting children to various ball games and to and from school along the country backroads. In later years, she found her calling on the road, working as both a pilot car driver and a long-haul truck driver.
She had a love for adventure and family. On one memorable occasion, when her truck broke down, her family (all three kids and their kids all together) turned the trip to pick her up into a vacation, visiting Fantastic Caverns together. In her free time, Deborah enjoyed reading, going to the casino, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Deborah is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Renia Newell of Wewoka; her daughters and sons-in-law, Patsie and David Carter of Seminole, and Darci and Jason Williams of Seminole; five grandchildren, Zachary Newell and his wife, Stefanie, Dillon Dildine, Cortney Farrow and her husband, Garrett, Kaden Williams and his wife, Olivia, and Emma Carter; one great-grandchild, Lillie Newell, with three more on the way; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Linda Blain, and Jim and Verdonna Blain; along with many other family members and friends.
A family visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Nick Atyia officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole.
