David Gabby Hayes

David Gabby Hayes, 85, of Maud, passed from this life September 24, 2026, at his home near Maud.

He was born March 17th, 1941, in Maud, Oklahoma to the late Perry Thomas Hayes and Edna Brown Hayes. He proudly service in the US Army. David retired from OG&E but continued to enjoy working on the farm, tending his cattle, horses and donkeys. He married Eunice Welch, November 2, 1962, in Farmington, New Mexico, and to this union two children were born, David Jr. “Binky” Hayes, and Kimberly Diane Hayes Sellers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; his parents, Perry and Edna; his daughter, Kimberly Pellman Sellers; a brother, Kendal Hayes; and a grandson Zachary Pellman.

David is survived by his son, David Hayes and wife; his sister, Floretta Wallgren; and grandchildren, Connor Pellman, Anna Hayes, and Justin Hayes; great grandchildren, Addison, Clayton, and Cody Pellman; along with numerous other family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Loving Care Hospice, particularly Pat Fletcher, Connie McDivitt, Jalinda Bowman, Kierra Hardwick, and Arleen Blanchard.

Casket bearers, will be David Hayes, David Sellers, Britt Waltman, Lewie Dabbs, and Jerry Peavler.

Services will be Monday, September 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Chaplain Thom Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
