Seminole resident, Daniel “Danny” Wayne Wells passed away in Oklahoma City on March 24th, 2025. Danny was born in 1949 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to the late H.E. (Snag) and Anita Wells. He graduated from Seminole High School in 1967 where he picked up the moniker of Fargo. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Houston, Texas. Danny was a professional land and aquatic surveyor. He simultaneously supervised numerous crews throughout the Gulf Coast area and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Danny was also a certified diver coordinating offshore crews for various global oil companies.
Danny returned to his beloved Seminole in 2013. He was a fun-loving, energetic jokester who had an unlimited cache of stories. They were told so brilliantly you never knew if they were true or not, yet entertaining. Danny was an avid music lover and a music trivia genius. Name a song and he could recall the artist and every member of the band. He loved fishing, learned from many hours spent with his father Snag, and later shared that knowledge with his son Jascen. He was happiest on the bank of a pond owned by his good friend Bill Lozier. It was irrelevant if they caught anything, he enjoyed being there with his friend, a rod in one hand, and a beer in the other. Danny was a loving and caring friend. He went out of his way to help many of his ailing friends. He lifted their spirits, assisted with transportation to doctors’ appointments, and helped financially when he could. They always knew he was only a phone call away. Danny’s generosity and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Danny is survived by his son Jascen Wells of Shawnee, sister Gail L. Wells of Nichols Hills, Oklahoma, nephew Darren James and wife Ronda of Modesto, California, friend Linda Rose of Shawnee and his companion Katherine Dawson of Seminole.
