William Burl Elkins Jr., a resident of Seminole, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Midwest City.
Known to many as “Curly Bill,” he was born September 12, 1944, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to William Elkins Sr. and Margie (Reel) Ware. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On February 14, 2003, Curly Bill married Sally Hardin. He spent much of his life working in the automotive industry, specializing in auto paint and body work. A proud veteran, he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1317 in Shawnee. In his free time, he especially enjoyed riding his motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Curly Bill is survived by his wife, Sally Elkins, of the home; daughters, Molly Anderson, Dru Anderson, and Tessa Hickman; stepson, David Gurley; brother, George Ware; sister, Freda Dismukes; and many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
