Cody Alan Goss, 23 Cody was a life long resident of Maud and passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 near Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 23. Cody was born April 19, 1991 in Midwest City, Oklahoma to parents, Steve and Terrie Goss. Cody was a graduate of Maud High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Maud. He worked for Allied Wireline Service in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as an operator for the past two years. Cody was a sportsman who loved the great outdoors hunting and fishing. His other hobbies included racing cars and boating with his family and friends at Lake Eufaula. He was a loving and kindhearted young man that never met a stranger. He always stopped and took the time to talk to everyone and even help them if they needed his assistance. Cody is survived by his parents; Steve and Terrie Goss of Maud, Oklahoma; one brother, Justin and his wife Andrea of Bethany, Oklahoma; grandfather, Kay D. Goss of Maud, Oklahoma; grandmother, Faye Ingram of Maud, Oklahoma; two aunts, Connie Ingram and her husband Charles Forbes of Colleyville, Texas; nephew, Chance Taber of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Shelly Eckerman and her husband Tom of San Diego, California; one uncle, David Goss and his wife Angie, and nephews Blake and Zachery Goss of Norman, Oklahoma. Cody was preceded in death by this maternal grandfather, Floyd Ingram, paternal grandmother, Darlene Goss and his uncle Van Hurshel Goss. The family will receive friends and family at a special visitation time Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Maud High School Auditorium with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Graveside burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery Maud, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers are: Frank Stapp, Craig Richards, Daniel Peters, Matt Peters, Derick Robertson, Preston Crawford. Honorary casket bearers are: Justin Goss, Blake Goss, Zachery Goss, Chance Taber, Dugan Tafoya, Keith Simonds, Chad Richards, Tad Alford.
