Christina Jo Lehman, Shawnee, OK resident, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Shawnee at the age of 58. Christina was born on March 24, 1967, in Oklahoma City to Billy Ray and Wanda June (Smith) Lehman. She was a 1985 graduate of Asher High School. She studied art at St. Gregory’s and accounting at Gordon Cooper Technology Center. Christina retired from her career in juvenile corrections at COJAC. She also worked as a bartender at Thunderbird Casino.
Christina is survived by her son, Derrick Lehman and his fiancé, Kessa of Shawnee; daughter/niece and her husband, Lacey and Edward Carey of Bethel; two nieces, Billie Joa Soderlund and her husband, David and Cheyeann Adams and her fiancé, Scott of Shawnee; grandchildren, Malakai, Nevaeh, Essence, Prince, Asher, Abel, Kaddy and Samuel and many other family and friends.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carla Adams; grandson, Edward Carey Jr. (Giz) and uncle, David Lehman.
Christina was the matriarch of the family. She was a devoted Christian. Her beautiful and friendly personality was full of laughter and humor. She had a big heart and was eager to help others and would give the shirt off her back for anyone in need. Christina loved to cook for everyone no matter how large the group was as food was a love language for her. She especially loved holidays and that treasured time shared. Her grandchildren were her world. She loved to watch their sporting events. In her younger years she was a great basketball player.
Those serving as casket bearers will be Derrick Lehman, Coby Lehman, Taylor Lehman, Jimmy Coleman, Matt Cleveland and Edward Carey.
Christina will be taken to her home at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2025, and the wake will be held there at 6:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Highland Church of Christ in Tecumseh. Interment will follow at Avoca Cemetery in Asher. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
