Charlie Harjo was born July 2 1984 in Ada, Oklahoma to Ostie Jane Merritt and Clifford Harjo, Sr. He began his journey home on September 14, 2026.

Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. A private memorial service has been planned for a later date.

As a child, Charlie was full of energy. He enjoyed watching cartoons, funny movies, and playing outside with his brothers. As an adult, Charlie loved music, and it brought him comfort in the tough times, and joy in the good times. He was known for his humor, often quoting funny lines from his favorite movies. He had an infectious laugh that could make anyone smile and turn someone’s bad mood into a good one. He always brought laughter, kindness, and caring wherever he went. He enjoyed listening to podcasts about anything paranormal, from ghosts to aliens. He always believed that there was more to the universe than what we could normally see. His love for his brothers and his family was immeasurable. He often put others before himself and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.

Charlie is survived by his brothers Edmond Harjo and Clifford Harjo, Jr. of the home in Ada, OK; Isaiah Harjo of Ada, OK, and Mose Merritt and wife, Annie Merritt of Wetumka, OK; one sister Yahnah Factor and husband, Mark Factor of Seminole, OK; his father Clifford Harjo, Sr. of Ada, OK; Nieces Gabriella Factor, Addison Merritt, Akeeyah Merritt, Raeleigh Merritt, and Chandra Stewart. Nephews Mark Factor, Jr., Brad Merritt, Zach Merritt, Bryce Merritt, and Christopher Ray Merritt, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ostie Jane Merritt, brother Christopher Ray Merritt, and several aunts, uncles, and other family members.
