Charles "Tom" Thomas Fowler

May 28, 1960 — June 2, 2025

Norman

Norman resident, Charles Thomas Fowler, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, in Norman, at the age of 65.

Tom, the son of Charles “Rudy” and Nan Carol (Street) Fowler, was born May 28, 1960, in Tacoma, Washington. He graduated from Strother High School with the class of 1978. Following high school, Tom attended Seminole Junior College and subsequently received his Bachelor of Science in Business/Management from the University of Phoenix.

Tom gave his life to Christ in 1981 and remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. His love for God was the foundation of who he was; a man of unwavering belief, quiet strength, and deep compassion.

On November 18, 1985, Tom married Jennifer Vidal, in Sherman, Texas.

In 1988, Tom joined the U.S. Army, where he proudly served for 23 years. During his years of service, Tom was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals (MSM), and other commendations recognizing his dedication and leadership. His military career included deployments to Bosnia in 1998 for Operation Joint Guard and multiple tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 and from 2007–2009, where he spent a total of 27 months. Tom was also a proud Airborne Paratrooper with the 18th Airborne Corps. Upon retirement in 2012, Tom founded Fowler Consulting, LLC and continued to serve as a government contractor domestically and internationally.

Most recently, Tom was in the process of launching a nonprofit foundation, Bridge to Hope; an effort inspired by a desire to lift up others. He had a quiet but instinctive way of noticing people in need and doing what he could to offer kindness, support, or simply a listening ear.

Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and his four grandkids were his greatest treasures. He was a wonderful husband, dad, and papa and always put his family first.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rudy Fowler; and by Thomas and Rachel Fowler (paternal grandparents); Frank Street (maternal grandfather), and Louise Street Ford (maternal grandmother).

Tom is survived by his wife, Jennifer, of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Brittany Fowler, of Norman, and Ashleigh and Jonathan Smith, of Norman; a son, Trent Fowler, of Norman; four grandchildren, Jackson Boothe, Bennett Smith, Charlotte Smith, and Wyatt Smith; mother; Nan Carol Fowler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Robert Cody, of Lexington, South Carolina, and Sherry and David LeFevre, of Seminole; along with many other family members and friends.
