Earlsboro resident, Charles “Pete” Carr, 75, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Oklahoma City.
Pete, the son of J.C. and Leola (Sanders) Carr, was born May 11, 1950. One of eight children, he grew up in Earlsboro. Pete worked for Western Electric which later became Lucent Technology. Pete was an entertainer, he loved playing music, DJ’ing, and making people laugh, going to rodeos, traveling, and being around the people he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Leona Carr; his son, Brylon Carr; his daughter, Lekiesha Johnson; grandson, Hunter Carr; brothers, J.C. Carr Jr., Don Carr, and Eddie Carr; a sister Francis Hearn.
Pete is survived by all of his grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Carr, of Oklahoma City; sisters, Lois Nubine, of Oklahoma City, and Wanda Johnson, of Moore; along with many other family members and friends.
Services are Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1:00 P.M., at Sharon Baptist Church, in Tecumseh. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole.
