Cecil (Carl) Miller passed away on April 1, 2025 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 88. He was born April 24, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Cecil O. and Ora (Livingston) Miller. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1955 and moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma in the 1960’s and then to Shawnee in the 1970’s. He married Anna Mae Miller in September 1977 in Meeker, Oklahoma.
Cecil grew up working on his family farm, broke horses, worked at a steel yard as a welder, at Tinker Air Force Base and then Sanders Lab until his retirement. Cecil enjoyed camping in Colorado, boating, fishing, spending time with family at Lake Eufaula, gardening, lawn mower repair, traveling with his wife to the Netherlands, England, France, Cape Town, South Africa, Belgium and Wales, reading western books, playing cards, garage sales, antiques, his grandkids, and taking his wife Ann for a senior Coke at McDonalds.
Surviving Cecil are his daughter; Peggy Holder of Checotah, Oklahoma, his brother; Jackie Miller and wife Sue of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, his sister; Euden Steen and husband, Clair of North Dakota, his daughter-in-law; Valerie Miller of Grove, Oklahoma, son; Lynn Miller of Midwest City, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Leeanna Kinnett, Geary Kinnett, Brad Kinnett, Jessica Carpenter, Zachary Holder, Danny Miller, Jr., Kevin Miller and Jonathon Miller, great-grandchildren; Andrew Kinnett, Lauren Kinnett, Emily Kinnett, Joshua Kinnett, Jacob Kinnett, Cole Woodward, Carson Kinnett, Jackson Kinnett, Shianna Kinnett, Autumn Brown, Heather Johnson, Gracie Carpenter, Bennett Carpenter, Jasper Miller, Jayce Miller, Keegan Miller, Haven Miller and Avery Miller and great-great grandchildren; Peyton Kinnett, Daniel Kinnett, Ivory Johnson and Maxleigh Brown.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; Cecil and Ora Miller, his wife; Anna Mae Miller, siblings; JT Miller and Imagene Taylor, his son; Danny Miller, his daughter; Beverly Collins and great-granddaughter Everly Carpenter.
The Memorial Service for Cecil will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Leveridge officiating. Cremation burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
