Carl Ray Misener, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at his home in Asher, Oklahoma. A memorial Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 31st, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa, Oklahoma.  Father Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate.  Burial will follow after the noon meal at Vista Cemetery with military honors.  A memorial book is available to sign at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa on Friday, August 28th, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Carl was born on October 28, 1939, in Florence, Colorado, to Earl B.Misener and Laura Belle (Wingo) Misener.  He was a truck driver who was known as “The Tire Man” in Shawnee. He is survived by the love of his life, Sharon Norton of Asher, Oklahoma; one son, Bruce Misener of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; three daughters, Debra Battles and Ruby Misener, both of Tecumseh, and Lora Shleel of Los Angeles, California; one brother, Tom Misener of Norman, Oklahoma; three sisters, Rebecca Elrod of Oklahoma City, Earlynn Lambert of Kiowa, Oklahoma, and Ellie Mae Western of Texas; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Laura Misener; one grandson, Chester Boatner; two brothers, Ben and Eddie Paul Misener; and two sisters, Ruby Thomas and Imagene Cummings.
