Calvin Wayne "Spider" Harjo

Calvin Wayne "Spider" Harjo , age 61 and resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away February 26, 2023 in Konawa.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  Bro. Kellos Walker will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Casket bearers are John Suchanek, Homer James Heard, Kirby Howard, Bob Hudson, Timmy Sanders, and Tony Sanders.  Honorary bearers are Paul Sanders, Tim Carpitche, Jimmy Sanderfer, and John Sanderfer.  The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 3rd.

Calvin Harjo was born September 8, 1961 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Finis Ewing Impson and Ruby Mae (Harjo) Impson.    Calvin grew up in Konawa, and he worked in the oilfield and for Rodebush, Inc. in the 1980's.  Later, when the tire shop opened, he worked for Paul Sanders for several years until the tire shop closed.  He was employed as a forklift operator for Leachco in Ada, Oklahoma.  He accepted the Lord in his life in January, 2020, and he liked to watch OU football, world wrestling (WWE) and car races.  Calvin did some rodeo clowning around the counties for different rodeo companies.  He enjoyed doing that.  He had a well known hero named, Leon Coffee, a rodeo clown and bullfighter.  He had many friends around Konawa.

He is survived by his companion, LaDonna Howard of the home; one son, Casey Harjo of Corvallis, Oregon; two daughters, Mariah Howard-Harjo of Konawa, and Catrina Harjo of Corvallis, Oregon; one brother, Paul Impson of Holdenville, Oklahoma; one sister, Cyndi George of Konawa; six grandchildren, Kylee, Dom, Dakota, and Bella Harjo, and Deauntay and Callista Harrison; and a host of many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and former wife, Connie Graham.
