Brenda Jo Whitley

Brenda Jo Whitley, Seminole, OK resident, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025 in Oklahoma City at the age of 67. Brenda was born on January 24, 1958 in Seminole to Marie (Barnes) Dorr. She grew up in Seminole. Brenda married David Whitley on July 26, 1974 at Old Glory Church.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 50 years, David Whitley; son, Davy Whitley; two daughters and sons-in-law, Billie and Jackie Gamble of Seminole, OK and Dava and Steve Quisenberry of Seminole, OK; honorary daughter and son-in-law, Lachrisa and Brent Ince; sister-in-law, Paula Barnes; five grandchildren, Brooke Gamble, Jaycee Gamble, Kane Cross, Halle Quisenberry, Jake Quisenberry and Jordan Hotulke; niece and nephew, Melanie and Connor Cox; great niece and great nephew, Murray and Blair Cox; mother-in-law, Billie Whitley and many other family and friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Dorr; brother, Phil Barnes and father-in-law, Sherman Whitley.

Brenda started working at the Dairy Cup when she was 12 and then she bought it and ran it until the fall of 1996. She then went on to work at Willis Quick Stop until she retired. She then started working for Melvin and Jasmine Moran and she loved working there and enjoyed working with the girls that worked with her.

Brenda took great joy in watching her grandkids participate in sports, dance and other activities. She enjoyed going on road trips and vacations with her husband, family and friends. Brenda just loved being with her family and friends and treasured the fellowship.

Honorary bearers will be Davy Whitley, Jackie Gamble, Steve Quisenberry, Jake Quisenberry, Kane Cross, James Whitley, Brent Ince, Migel Vazquez, Saul Vazquez, Mike Gamble, Jimmy Whitley, Justin Etchieson, Connor Cox, Frank Ross, Brandon Montgomery, Brandon Montgomery Jr., Tim Grabin, Stretch Wilson and a host of cousins and many other special friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jasmine Moran Humane Society and/or the Phil Barnes Scholarship (make checks out to Duncan Public Schools).

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Seminole. Matt Pollock will be officiating. Also speaking will be Bro. Clint Dawkins, Bro. Butch Bradley and Bro. Jimmy Whitley. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
