Booket Douglas, age 92, of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away on August 3, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1933, in Konawa, Oklahoma, to Willie and Mary Douglas.
Booket married the love of his life, Erma (Boyd) Douglas, on December 31, 1956, in Chandler, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life filled with family, hard work, and many cherished memories. Booket was a retired maintenance worker and was known throughout his life as a hardworking man who took pride in a hard day’s work.
To his family, especially the children, Booket was lovingly known as “Papa.” Papa was truly one of a kind. He was famous for his vegetable garden and was always quick to share both his advice and the produce he grew with friends, neighbors, and family. He was also a devoted fan of Oklahoma State University, and his loyalty to the Cowboys was well known by those who loved him.
Booket is survived by his daughters, Vickie Wolfe of Seminole, Terry Atkinson of Earlsboro, and Sharon Douglas of Seminole. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: William and Tara Wolfe of Marlow, Brandon Wolfe of Oklahoma City, Natasha Brewer of Shawnee, Danielle Atkinson and Damon Atkinson, both of Seminole, Todd and Hilary Streater of Seminole, Madison and Ethan Parsons of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Megan and Nick Weishaar of Rapid City, South Dakota.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Hailey and Landon Wolfe, Cashlynn and Axel Brewer, Liberty, Justice, Jacobi and Brett Wolfe, Brayden Davis, Brandon Wolfe Jr., Jayleigh and River Wolfe, and Athena Jean Streater.
Booket was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Erma Douglas; his son, Booket Douglas Jr.; his grandson, Brett Booket Wolfe; his daughter, Francine Ewy; and his siblings, Corene White, Emma Foster, Susie Factor, Bertha Sherwood, Lillibe Harjo, Obegin Douglas, Andrew Douglas, and Roger Wood.
Serving as pallbearers are William Wolfe, Todd Streater, Damon Atkinson, Brayden Davis, Jacobi Wolfe, and James Hewitt. Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Wolfe, Curtis Douglas, Haskell Streater, Brett Wolfe, Destin Hall, and Ethan Parsons.
Viewing and services will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Viewing will begin after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026.
Booket, “Papa,” will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
