Betty (Lois) Nance long time Seminole resident passed from this life into the next quietly with her family with her on Sunday afternoon November 23rd.
Lois was born January 6th, 1933, North of Seminole to Willis Hiram Jones and Elizabeth Angeline Jones (Risenhoover). She was the fourth of six children.
The family moved, as many did in those years, to California where she spent much of her youth, graduating from Madera High School in 1952.
She eloped and married Robert (Sir Bob) Nance in Reno Nevada on October 3rd, 1954.
They made their home in the San Joaquin valley in the Madera area for close to 15 years before returning to Seminole in September 1969.
After returning to Seminole, she worked for Blue Bell as a supervisor, retiring in 1985. After retiring she worked many other jobs, mostly food service for Seminole Schools, Seminole State College, Seminole hospital, and many summers in Colorado working youth camps.
Lois was an over 40-year member of the Temple of Praise/Starting Point church where she held many positions of leadership. She also attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God for many years.
She began following Jesus at an early age and her heart’s desire was to raise Godly children who would serve and follow Christ with their whole heart.
She is survived by her children R. Duane Nance Sr. and wife Sharon of Tishomingo, Cindi Nance (Shivers) and husband Doug of Yukon, Jeff Nance and wife Naoma of Seminole, sister Mary Langley (Jones) of Seminole, sister-in-law Geneva Jones (Dilbeck) of Washington and a bonus daughter-in-law Tammi Rich of Newcastle, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Also left to mourn her loss are her grandchildren: Duane Nance Jr., Melissa(Nance)Houck and her husband Billy, Gregory Nance and his wife Mallory, Whitney(Nance) Ford and her husband James, Amy(Nance)Dennis and her husband Drew, Sarah(Nance)Eddy and her husband Jeremy, Hannah(Shivers)Combs and her husband Ethan, Abigail(Nance)Knight and her husband Ben, Adam Nance and his wife Katariina, Olivia Nance, Ava Nance.
She had many great grandchildren: Kobe Holland, Kacy Holland, Isaac Houck, Levi Houck, Reagan Houck, Kenzlee Houck, Leo Combs, Caleb Moore, Mason Moore, Macie Stone, Jazper Nance, Viviann Nance, Skyler Atteberry, Spencer Atteberry, Sawyer Atteberry, Kolton Ford, Bowen Ford, David Nance, Savannah Nance, Trevor Nance, McKinzy Nance, Oceanna Nance, Aubrey Nance.
She also had one great-great-granddaughter Wrenley Williams.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Sir Bob) Nance, son Kenneth Eugene Nance, parents Willis and Eliza Jones, brothers Harold Jones, W.H. Jones, and Nova Don Jones, sister Virginia (Jones)Hendrickson, nephews Willis Allen Jones, Jackie Jones, and Gary Parkinson.
One great grandson and a great granddaughter waiting for her in heaven; Canaan James Nance and Lola Grey Houck.
Honor is also given to Michelle Overby for her love and care for our mother for over five years.
Shelly Pratt, Stephanie Graham, Sabrina Glenn, and Carole Houck for their love and help in her care.

Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025 and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Starting Point (Temple of Praise) in Seminole, OK. Pastor Jeff Nance and R. Duane Nance will be officiating. Interment to follow at Little Cemetery.
