Barbara Ann Colvin

Barbara Ann Colvin, Seminole, OK resident, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 in Seminole at the age of 91. Barbara was born on August 19, 1933 in Seminole to L.E. and Gladys (Miller) Majors. She was a 1951 graduate of Bowlegs High School. Barbara married Merle Lee Harper in May 1951 and together they raised two children Keith Harper and Teresa Harper. Merle passed away in 1964. Barbara loved to go square dancing and it was there she met Clay Colvin. She and Clay were married in June of 1965. He passed away in October of 2001.

Barbara enjoyed quilting and collecting red birds and snowmen. She loved flowers in and around the house. She loved gardening and always had a big garden every year. Barbara was a devoted caregiver to her daughter, Teresa until she passed in 2020. She was a devoted member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Shawnee and was a member of the ladies group.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents L.E. and Gladys Majors; daughter, Teresa Harper; son, Keith Harper; husband, Merle Harper; husband, Clay Colvin; brothers, Robert Majors, Ray Hugh Majors and Wilburn Majors; sisters, Katy Robertson and Dorothy Hollingshead.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Betty Stafford of Bowlegs; many nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.

Viewing will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Little Cemetery with Rev. Desi Sharp- Brumit officiating.
