Barbara Ann (England) Barrett

Barbara Ann Barrett , age 75 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away March 4, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

A memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at Konawa Church of Christ.  Lunch will be provided in the fellowship hall after the service.

Barbara was born August 30, 1948 in Morton, Texas to Bud England and Mentha Lee (Coleman) England.  She attended school in Idabel, Oklahoma and Beauty College in Paris, Texas.  She was a beautician by trade and worked at Reba’s Beauty Shop in Konawa for a number of years as well as other locations.  She married Ricky Wayne Barrett on December 30, 1975 at the Church of Christ in Konawa.  Barbara and Ricky lived in several cities following employment opportunities in Oklahoma and Georgia during their forty-eight years of marriage.  They moved home to Sasakwa in 2002 and fully retired in 2019.  Barbara enjoyed and was very talented at a number of hobbies including painting and all types of arts and crafts.  She also enjoyed collecting art glass and other types of antique glassware.  For those who knew her well, Barbara had a tender and caring heart (especially towards her family).  She was also fierce when it came to things she believed in or standing up for her family.  And, though it might not have always been pleasant, her family loved and admired her deeply.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Ricky of the home; daughter, Sharon Billings of Muskogee; son, Paul Wheeler and wife, Susan of Ada; daughter, Karen Nail and husband, Scott of Ardmore; daughter, Mary Hopkins of Oklahoma City; sister, Betty Byington of Carrollton, Texas; sister, Brenda Gardner of Pittsburgh, Kansas; ten grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
